He was born on August 17, 1974, in Berlin, Germany, to a family of former Israeli residents with Russian and Yemeni roots. Despite his mixed heritage, Sisley often explains to his audience at the end of his shows that he is actually just Jewish, rather than being half-Jewish and half-Arab.

Sisley moved to France at the age of nine and studied acting under the guidance of Jack Waltzer, his teacher and mentor for ten years.
